• Question:     Mike why did it take you so long to inform the world that you had this Pablo Escobar decanter ?
• Answer:       The fact  is that we were scared to announce the find, there are many of his friends and family still living in the area and Pablo is to this day a revered Robin Hood kind of hero.  Besides Colombia being dangerous and fearing persecution about the decanter, they have rules on exporting anything they consider Colombian art and things of that nature, so we just kept it quiet until I shipped it with our personal belongings back to the United States in 2009.
• Question:    Mike, Did this decanter really belong to Pablo Escobar ?
• Answer:       It was found in the backyard area under some trees of his dilapidated  house, there are no other homes around, I imagine some guard was drinking out of it while on watch, so  Yes I think it is due to all the circumstances.
• Question:     Mike do you have any proof that you found it there ?
• Answer:       Yes I do, I  have the photos that we took shown here on this web site and the one with me holding the bottle right after we found it!  Also the other person with me that day of the find is also a successful businessman and architect *Rafael Garcia, who is currently in Medellin doing  business and can attest to the facts of the find !
  
• Question:     Mike what was the bottle condition and circumstances of you finding it ?
• Answer:        Well the house is really beat up, holes in the walls, ceilings, graffiti just a shell.  The story is that the police and rivals, "Pepes" were searching for drugs and money.  While Looking through the rear bedroom of the semi demolished home, out of the corner of my eye I saw a sparkle under a cluster of trees in the back.  Upon approach thinking it was some broken glass I noticed it was some kind of semi buried bottle, as I dug it out I found the top and saw that it was a brandy type decanter.  It was kinda semi buried with dirt in it and weeds around it.  I envisioned some Escobar guard sitting on watch drinking away the night and leaving it there !
